Nimmt frau sich den Godfather des freien Pianospiels, Cecil Taylor, zum Thema ihrer Diplomarbeit, so zeugt dies zumindest mal von bestem Geschmack und untrüglichem Sinn für großartige Dramaturgie. Kaja Draksler besitzt Beides. Die aus Kranj in Slowenien stammende Pianistin hat am Konservatorium in Groningen ihr Jazzstudium absolviert, seither kreuzt sie erfrischend unbekümmert zwischen Komposition, Freier Impro, Neuer Musik und – höchst respektvoll – der Volksmusik des Balkan und ihrer slowenischen Heimat.
